Therapy with me is a lot more “normal” than the movie therapy most of us are used to seeing.

We'll check in. We'll talk about, work, your kids, the trip you're looking forward to, life. Somewhere in that we’ll naturally transition to what been feeling heavy, the pain points and the patterns that’s are not working for you. We'll connect the dots. We'll notice patterns. We'll figure out why something makes sense, where it came from, and what those coping strategies were trying to solve.

Sometimes I'll ask, "Wait...did you notice what you just said?" Sometimes I'll play devil's advocate. Sometimes we'll laugh. Sometimes the room gets quiet while something important clicks into place.

But insight is only the beginning.

Talking to me for an hour a week isn't what changes your life. What changes your life is what happens after you leave my office.

Together, we'll figure out one or two things to practice before we meet again. You'll try them in real life. Some things will work. Some won't. When you come back, we'll talk about what happened, troubleshoot, and try again.

That's how real change happens.

Real change won’t happen overnight, or because you have the perfect coping skills, or therapist. It will happen because of the hundreds of small, intentional changes leading to that big ah ha moment, and that moment eventually feeling different than it has before.

One of my favorite moments is when clients transition from weekly to biweekly to monthly sessions. Then I get to ask, "So...how have things been?" And they laugh and say," Honestly...I don't even know what I'm supposed to talk about today." Because life isn't one crisis after another anymore. The biggest news isn't the struggle. It's the wins. That's always my goal.

To help you build a life where therapy eventually becomes something you don't need, not because your life is perfect, but because you've built the confidence, insight, and tools to navigate it on your own. Therapy isn't about changing who you are. It's about understanding yourself well enough to make choices that fit the life you want.
